My 10 Day Zero Waste Challenge
My 10 day zero waste challenge started at the end of 2018.
Here I would like to share about this small journey of mine toward sustainable living and self-sufficient lifestyle.
Do not think that I really had zero waste! I had trash in my trash bin eventually. But, I decided not to stop on these experiences, and several things I will work on always:1. Always carry your own bag to a store. Refuse plastic bags... but sometimes I do not succeed .
2. Carry your own bottle to the gym and wherever you are.
3. Refuse unnecessary and excessive shopping.
4. Compost organic waste if you can.
5. Try to think globally wherever you do shopping.
6. Be always grateful for what you have.
Many countries compost, recycle their trash like Sweden for example, or they turn they trash into energy! It seems to me that idea is so great, that we need to learn from them!
Alright, here I post some of my photos from 10 day challenge!
Day 1. Picture above
Since I live with my parents it is better to adhere to this kind of lifestyle. My mom every summer makes reserves of pickles, jams, salads too. This way of her sustainable living helped me in this experience. I bought only bananas from the store without putting them in plastic bags. That day I enjoyed the jar of jam and bananas and green tea.
Day 2. I had cucumbers and broccoli. Simple lunch capture above shows my routine those days.:)
Day 3. I felt grateful for hands of agrarians and farmers. I thought they do amazing job in the world by growing greenery! In day third, I boiled and made pumpkin porridge.
Day 4. I spend my lunch at a cafe. Then I thought they also do a good service by providing plastic -free service! Green tea and mini - burger was for the lunch.
Day 5. Oh, women we spend so much on beauty products and care! However, some things I decided to refuse in my life! One of them is wet wipes. I thought they pollute the earth so much.
Day 6. Cooking your own meal is priceless! Making pasta the next day!
Day 7-10. Last day trash
Near my dad's workplace, my father always composts all biodegradable waste, especially food waste.
Our family for almost a year composts all organic waste under the soil.
