Making pickles at home
Have you ever tried to make pickles by yourself?
In summer time my mom is busy with making jams and other conserves.
This summer we were also making several types of jams and pickles too.
Look at some insights I have found for myself:
1. Choose time when vegetables are most cheap. (Then you can buy as much as you can)
2. Conserving - helps not only think about your own family, but other families as well. (for example, my mom shares her jars of jam and pickles with other community women in winter)
3. Pickles are very tasty side dish in winter!
Overall, here I will share my photos of this process:
1. Horseradish - creates the flavor of pickles
2. Fennel - flowering plants gives the scent
3. Wash thouroughly and put some to jars
4. Add garlic
5. Some pepper... (actually one is enough)
6. Put enough cucumbers and tomatoes
7. Pour slowly hot boiling water ( but be careful not to break the jar)
After 20 minutes rinse the jars from water. Then add one big spoon of salt, two spoons of sugar, vinegar and black pepper!
Pour hot water without fear and that's it!✊😋👍
