House gowns - wardrobe necessity?

Can a woman be elegant only when she is outdoors?

Eunice's page about elegant woman: https://elegantwoman.org/negligees shares quite interesting knowledge about being classy even at home, so that husbands could hurry up home.

If in old times there were particular dresses to wear on the streets, dresses to travel, tea gowns (it is a different topic) there were gowns to wear at home. ❤

This is a house gown worn in 19c. 

Only in 20 century house gowns were house coats. Mostly designed by American fashion designers. (Horrockses dresses were popular because of cotton fabrics and vibrant patterns)

What about 21 century our lives have changed so far, we are no longer only housewives, we work just the same as men: earning money, burden from social life lies on us. 

But do we have to stop to be feminine?
